Last month I got my Uncle's DNA Results back, and decided I wanted to do more than just sent THAT to him. ;-D
In the last 2 months, as a member of the pay side at Ancestry, I took advantage of this access to make several startling discoveries regarding not just the Wells/Hesson side of my lineage, but the Daugherty/Fraze/Tanner side.
This mainly involved marriages, and deaths.
Anyway I spent the money to make copies of documents, and over 50 photos (Covering 1915 to 2003), most of which my Uncle had never seen.
I made Genealogical Care Packages for him, and his 7 children, my cousins, many of whom I had not seen in over 30 years before a visit to Va. in March.
My Uncle got his DNA Report, the Pictures, and copies of documents.
He also got a 36 page Descendant Report. ;-D
With the confirmation of the DNA Report I was finally able to lay claim to names, and dates sent me by another researcher 7 years ago, which traced our Wells Line back to PA. in the early 18th century.
I spent the last 2 weeks adding names and dates to my Genealogy program, and made a report.
The Cousins got copies of documents.
I wrote a letter, explaining what I'd been up to, Genealogically, since my last report to them 6 years ago, and let them know that if they wanted copies of the DNA Report, photos, and Descendant Report, they'd have to take it up with their Dad. ;-D
I also encourged them to share the names of their wives, and husbands, and kids, for a future edition of the Report, and offered to use my access to Ancestry to look up stuff on the ancestors of their spouses.
With over 90 Family Groups, and about 300 names, even with the notes from that old Wells Researcher, I've got my work cut out for me. ;-D
My Uncle will be going thru his records, and photos, looking for anything that might be of interest to me, and sending me copies, in the hopes that I can use the stuff to help illuminate that confusing, mostly unknown, 50 year period from 1890 to 1940 in the lives of our Ancestors.
With all the hassle travellers have to suffer these days, and no liquids to be carried, the experience of passengers on a Ryan Air flight can only be described as extreme bad luck.
It appears that someone had snuck into the plane some mushroom soup which then dripped from an overhead locker on to the head of a passenger. Bad enough, you might think (although not as bad as tomato) but the soup triggered an allergic reaction in the passenger, forcing the plane to land early for emergency medical attention.
This seems rather like the mobile phones controversy - supposed to put the plane at risk but no one really believed they did. If there really is a danger from liquids carried on a flight (that they might be explosive, and be detonated by a suicide bomber in the plane) then some official's negligence has put a plane load of passengers at risk. If not....
This seems like a golden opportunity for Health'n'Safety. Was the soup labelled appropriately (may cause allergic reaction above 30,000 ft); how did it leak out?; should 'at soup-risk' passengers be made to wear hats?; should planes fly empty because the whole thing is too damn risky?
An update on Star and Roger. I am numb right now reporting that Star has to say goodbye to the love of her life. The injuries Roger received in the accident friday morning are to severe and they are taking him off life support today. I continue to pray for Star to have the strength to get thru this tragedy.
Star and Roger were like a breath of fresh air. You could feel the love radiating off of them. They celebrated their 6 month wedding anniversary on Sat. and were on the way to her 10 yr. high school reunion when the accident happened. They had a fairy tale life cut short.
In honor of Roger take a minute today and tell your loved ones how much they mean to you.
Of course the Chinese hated Britain's 'eight minutes'. They represented reality which, I hope, is what the 2012 London Games will be all about.
That's in stark contrast to the plastic robotics of the Communist version last week, where so little was what it seemed.
The Chinese bloggers are enjoying their chance to speak freely about London's 'disgraceful' show. Unfortunately their freedom doesn't extend to asking why only Han children were allowed to wear the costumes of the different Chinese races; and why 'undesirables' had to stay away from Beijing for 16 days.
London by comparison with Beijing is a place for self-expression, 2008-style. Why should the Mayor button his jacket and his lip? Who says? Who invented the business suit anyway? It wasn't the Chinese, that's for certain. And he can say whatever he feels like saying - except in China.
Like it or not, London oozes pop music and football and red buses (but only in threes - that would have been a neat touch); not artificial sweetness, carefully edited pictures and production-line competitors.
For one, (D.V.) I shall be relieved to witness the Reality Games in 2012 from the comfort of my armchair. So stop talking down the budget, the organisation and the protagonists. It will be a huge success in any terms, just you wait and see.

Hear hear Janus, I am not looking forward to 4 years of chatter about it, but I am in total support of our own games, the secret 'has' to be, not to try & compete with China or any previous games, but to be ourselves.
Be original with innovative ideas & show the nature, diversity, & talent in the country, but please god , nothing hideous like the Little Britain trash !!!
Nowadays, it seems that when you're in a successful rock band, you also become an entertainment star. For Weezer, they purposefully try to hold back when it comes to the media.
"I think all of us are forever changing as a person and sometimes in the press you, it's to fun to mess with them and put a persona up that maybe you aren't even that person and I think it's good for an artist to not give too much of themselves and I think Rivers is one of the few rock stars left that are like that."
Nevertheless, Weezer and Rivers Cuomo will give something of themselves when they kick off a tour in Lowell, Massachusetts on September 23rd. Hits the Forum here in LA on Oct. 4th.
Just a little over 24 hours till the contest closes. Just want to wish everyone the best of luck and may the perfect couple win. Come check us out at http://vipnetwork.kiisfm.com/ssb723.
I was out of town this week setting up my move to Dallas so I was out of the loop regarding the latest Bengal debacle against New Orleans. On my return I saw the photos of Carson battered and bleeding. I heard the quote from Dave Lapham that no one was "doing a damn thing out there". The remark that this team has no energy from backup Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Funny how this collapse 2 weeks prior to the season coincides with the resigning of Chris Henry. I may be way out of line in saying this, but any credibility Marvin Lewis regained with his "hard line stance" involving Henry and Thurman's release and the refusal to cave on Chad's trade demands has flown out the window along with any chance this team will contend for a playoff spot, as the resigning of Henry was all Mike Brown. A coach with no control over his team has no respect from the players. How can they take anything he says seriously when Mike Brown plays him like a puppet?
Adding insult to Marvins fatal injury were reports this week that ownership is shopping Rudi Johnson as trade bait for another reciever, and again, Marvin was not in the know. He did not, however, categorically deny the rumor, stating management may be making the calls regarding such scenarios.
Either this is a case of Marvin separating himself from the disaster to come, or there is truly no communication ongoing with coach and owner. Either way, it does not bode well for the future of Marvin Lewis as coach of the Bengals. Nor does the losing stop.
Sad to say, but only an ownership change will eliminate the culture of losing that has made Cincinnat a joke.Barring a Charles Dickens type " Christmas Carol" visit from Paul Brown himself , to show his son the mess he's created, the status quo will prevail. Mikey will count his money and pretend he actually cares about winning, while Bengals suffer through another 7-9 season, and hope for next year yet again.

27 August 2008 - Force India's
test and reserve driver Tonio Liuzzi today kick-started the team's three-day
test at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza, Italy. The 5.793km high-speed, low
downforce track is unlike any other circuit on the calendar and, as such, the
team spent much of today conducting set-up and aero work that will be unique to
this event and the forthcoming Italian Grand Prix.
Tonio completed 99 laps in total, with a best lap time of 1min 24.239, the
8th quickest time of the day. Adrian Sutil will take over for tomorrow's
running, with Giancarlo Fisichella bringing the test to a close on Friday.
Team quotes Dominic Harlow, chief race and
test engineer 'With the aero configuration for Monza being
dramatically different to any other track we visit on the calendar, today's
programme focussed on evaluating different set-ups and wing levels specifically
for the Italian Grand Prix. We also conducted some work on engine mapping, brake
testing and tyre evaluation. Grip levels are low at the moment, and the tyres we
are using are very hard for the conditions, but everyone has the same issue so
we will work over the next days to optimise the performance. Overall, we had a
good day and are pretty happy with the information we gathered, it's been a good
start to the test.'
Tonio Liuzzi 'Today we tried to get
a good set-up for the rest of the test and the race in just a couple of weeks
time, and I think we can be happy with how it went today. This morning the grip
levels were very low and it was quite difficult with the tyres we had, and
especially as I had not been in the car for some time for a real test. We did
make some good progress though, almost 100 laps with no problems and we are not
too far from the others in the times either.'

I'm writing this blog in a very sleep-deprived,delusional state of mind.I just can't get over the fact that my 8 miles per gallon truck has now been parked in my driveway, due to our now increasing gas prices....once again.I was talking to a friend of mine actually today,we saw a guy huffing & puffing on a bicycle attempting to make it up a hill, and i thought to my self, you will never catch me on one of those.well,im making it public,i am infact looking for a 5 speed,no prefered color, just something to get me from point A to point B.Or...I could try one of those snazzy little mopeds.I can putt-putt my way to a destination.I even hear they have a moped gang,I'm considering joining, maybe it comes with complimentary rain poncho, with the gangs logo embeded on the back.I think i prefer the term scooter as well,it gives the "bike"an edge dont you think?Yes,this is me being sarcastic,if you don't like it,get the **** off my post. And while we are still on the subject of scary scooters,i am so sick and tired of those jack **** pulling out in the front of me.It gets up to what 30 miles per hour?I HAVE A HEMI!I can and will make you a very big hood ornament. One pulled out in the front of me the other day,and then had the nerve to flip me off!So...i tailgated him for a couple of minutes, waited until a stop sign, and as he was about to pull off,i laid down the horn, and watch this guy proceed to pick his scooter up of the street.Yes,I felt aweful afterwards, but the guy deserved it.Anyways, the moral to this choppy unrehearsed blog is,DON'T EVER...I MEAN EVER pull out in the front of me,and im sick of gas prices going up and down like the weigh in at a jenny craig seminar.

I just sent my garden faeries off to visit poor Be... She doesn't want any attention, but you can still wish her well (forgive me Be! ;^).
Anyways with all my local fae gone, something "wicked" came out of the Haunted Forest... She seemed very irritated with my taking her picture. I thought I heard her calling out to something called "Flying Monkees." I figured I'd better take off before they arrived.
A strange creature she was indeed!
To see her closer (How about a little fire, Scarecrow?) simply click on the image...
